Where are the keys to the Heavenly Kingdom?

 

Since the human fall at beginning of history, humanity is longing and struggling for the solution to the problems caused by the fall and for an ideal world filled with true love and harmony free of evil conflicts. I believe not only religious humans longing for an ideal world, also non religious humans, because this desire is naturally in everybodies heart.

Since I grew up in christian culture, I wondered what this words of Jesus meant:

„ I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:19

I learned from an explanation and it sounded logical to me and I wondered, why I didn`t understood it myself. Jesus didn`t take the keys with him, but left it on earth in the hands of humanity. The words „whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven“ does not refer - as often interpreted – binding relationships by marriage and loosing relationships by divorce. God‘s heart and law does not include divorce. This exists in the human world, due to our shortcomings.

To solve a problem, is like to solve a difficult knot, which is bound. To loose something is to solve it. When it is bound, like the knot, than it is not solved. That is how I understand the above words of Jesus. The problems we solve on earth,will be solved in the spirit world. The problems we don‘t solve on earth, are also not solved in the spirit world.

This helps me to understand another question, I had for many years. Why is God our Heavenly Father, the Origin of true love, waiting so long to realize His ideal? He surely doesn`t enjoy seeing us suffering for thousands of years. The reason is, that humanity has the responsibility – since we have the keys – to realize Gods Ideal together with Him. Love between God and His children is only possible based on freedom. That was God‘s risk to give us freedom, because of love. God cannot and doesn‘t want to force an ideal over us.

I wish and hope, that we, as human world family, can understand this and realize God`s Ideal as quick as possible! Amen!
