In 2021, the EU imported almost 138 million tonnes of agricultural products, costing €150 billion. At the same time, the report 'No Time to Waste', based on the most up-to-date sources, estimates that the EU wastes 153.5 million tonnes of food each year.

  • Primary production: 89.8 million tonnes. (59 %)

  • Processing: 15.4 million tonnes. (10 %)

  • Wholesale and retail: 5.3 million tonnes. (3 %)

  • Food service: 10.5 million tonnes. (7 %)

  • Households: 32.5 million tonnes. ( 21 %)

How much food waste is there in the United States? Each year, 119 billion pounds (59,5 million tonnes) of food is wasted in the United States. That equates to 130 billion meals and more than $408 billion in food thrown away each year. Shockingly, nearly 40% of all food in America is wasted.

  • Manufacturers: 2 %

So, in total waste Europe and the USA together 213 million tonnes food each year!

An average human needs approximately 2 kilo food a day. Calculates to about 730 kilo a year.
213 million tonnes of food would be enough to feed about 291.8 millions humans a year.
Something in the worldwide food distribution system is wrong!
No human needed to die on hunger!
